On February 9, Sony officially released a new version of the firmware for the Vlog camera ZV-1, which mainly improved the convenience of using the ZV-1 as a live camera.
The new firmware adds the “USB streaming” function, supports UVC (USB Video Class) & UAC (USB AudioClass) protocol specifications, and connects via a USB cable to achieve simultaneous image and sound capture.
In this way, the ZV-1 is more convenient and efficient when connecting to a computer or Sony mobile phone Xperia 1 II/Xperia 5 II (need to upgrade to Android 11.0) to broadcast live.
In addition, the new version of the ZV-1 firmware supports 1280×720 resolution during live broadcasts, which further improves the picture quality. At the same time, you can choose to set the camera’s functions such as skin beautification, anti-shake, product display settings, switch background defocusing clear and picture profile, to achieve professional live broadcast performance.
Since its release, the Sony ZV-1 has become a popular video creation camera with its bright and beautiful skin, precise focus, one-click background clear/blur switching, and delivery mode. Later, the white version of ZV-1 was launched, and the stylish body was loved by many girls. CCTV reporter Wang Bingbing used this camera in his Vlog video.
Currently, there are three ways to use Sony cameras to broadcast live:
The first is to install the Imaging Edge Webcam software on the PC, connect to the computer via a USB cable, and then use the camera’s screen to live broadcast in conjunction with the computer’s microphone.
This method supports 37 Sony digital cameras already on the market, including: Alpha 9 II, Alpha 9, Alpha 7S III, Alpha 7R IV, Alpha 7R III, Alpha 7 III, Alpha 7 II, Alpha 7 C, Alpha 6600, Alpha 6400 , Alpha 6100, RX100 VII, RX0 II, Vlog camera ZV-1, etc., including the just-released Sony Mirrorless flagship Alpha 1.
The second method is to use a video capture card to connect the camera and the computer for live broadcast.
The third is the ZV-1 live connection method of the new version of the firmware upgrade. There is no need to install the Imaging Edge Webcam software. You can use the ZV-1 body microphone to achieve a simpler and faster webcast. Just connect the USB cable. Realize the simultaneous collection of pictures and sounds.
After the Sony Vlog camera ZV-1 upgrades the new firmware, the connection and settings during live broadcast on the PC are very simple and convenient (computer system requirements: Windows10 64bit, Windows8/macOS). After turning on “USB Streaming” in the camera menu, you can call up the screen and audio of ZV-1 by connecting to a computer.
The mobile live connection is similar to the PC terminal. After the camera turns on the “USB streaming”, when connecting to the smartphone (Xperia 1 II/Xperia 5 II, only for Android systems, it needs to be upgraded to Android 11.0. The adaptation software is subject to actual conditions. ), the phone can call ZV-1 screen and audio. Basic functions such as skin beautification, anti-shake, product display settings, switching background defocusing and clear picture profiles are also available.
